Here’s a poser for you: when will 1980s stars A-Ha’s music video for ‘Take On Me’ reach one billion views on YouTube? It’s not an idle question on our part: the famous video is not far off that milestone, having notched up 905m views so far. Now fans are being challenged to guess when the video will reach the billion mark: whoever gets the closest will win a trip to the group’s home country of Norway, to meet the band and see them live next February.

‘Take On Me’ will become one of the very-few music videos from the 20th century to have reached a 10-figure view-count on YouTube: pub-quiz experts should memorise ‘November Rain’, ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ and ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ in case they’re ever asked what those other videos are. Anyway, fans can take their guesses (not just day, month and year but also hour and minute) on a dedicated website.
