Here’s an anniversary we didn’t remember was coming: 10 years since the release of FarmVille, the Facebook farming game that established US firm Zynga as an early giant of the social gaming world.

Music is part of the birthday celebrations, thanks to a partnership between Zynga and country star Trisha Yearwood. She’ll be appearing in cartoon form in the latest version of the game, FarmVille 2: Country Escape, with a promo for her new single ‘Every Girl in This Town’. Yearwood will appear as a “down-to-earth farmhand avatar” in the game, offering rare items and other in-game rewards.

The partnership fits into a history of music collaborations for FarmVille. For example, in 2014 The Killers and Jimmy Kimmel’s charity single ‘Joel the Lump of Coal’ was featured in FarmVille 2: Country Escape, with a link to buy it from Apple’s App Store. Meanwhile, Lady Gaga got her own ‘GagaVille’ zone in FarmVille back in 2011, to promote her ‘Born This Way’ album.
