South African telco Vodacom’s My Muze music-streaming app has been downloaded more than 1m times since its launch in April this year. Those downloads have come on Android alone, although the service is available in a web-browser version for Apple devices, according to the Financial Mail.
It also reported on how Vodacom has been pricing the service: “Users can purchase 850MB worth of data for R49 that is valid for a month, or an 80MB bundle for R3 that is valid for just one hour,” it explained, comparing this to the R60 cost of a subscription to services like Apple Music and Spotify, which do not include data charges.
The article also looks at rival South African telco MTN’s MusicTime! streaming service, with its app that has so far been downloaded more than 240k times.
