We’re used to referring to Line Music as a Japanese music-streaming service, but this week it’s set to expand to Taiwan, according to the Taiwan News.
“According to Central News Agency, Line Music will provide a free, 30-day trial to first-time users,” it reported, noting that Hong Kong-born Mandopop singer Coco Lee will be the ‘brand ambassador’ for the service in Taiwan, complete with a tour sponsorship deal.
This is part of a bigger $100m investment in Taiwan by Line to build usage of its suite of apps, including its flagship messaging app.
The launch will come as Line Music prepares to add new features to its service in Japan, including a new free tier; music videos; and improvements to its recommendations engine.
