A whole new world! You’ve got a friend in me! Under the sea! Can you feel the love tonight?! LET IT GOOOOOOO….. Okay, having dealt with your earworms for the rest of the week, we’ll get to the actual news here: Spotify has launched a dedicated Disney hub on its service in certain countries. It’ll feature playlists from individual films as well as compilations of ‘Disney Favorites’, ‘Disney Classics’ and ‘Disney Hits’ (yes, there *are* differences between those three) as well as playlists based on Marvel and Star Wars.
The hub will also offer up original soundtracks for those films. One curious aspect is that the hub is (for now) only launching in seven countries: the US, UK, Ireland, South Africa, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Why restrict it to English-speaking markets when Disney is popular globally? But it’s quite possible the hub will roll out to more countries in the coming months. For now, at least it has *consults notes* the bare necessities covered.
