Calm is becoming quite the place for artists to release their music. The meditation app got an exclusive on Moby’s new album ‘Long Ambients 2’ in March this year, then earlier this month Sigur Rós launched a ‘Liminal Sleep’ playlist within the Calm app, also as an exclusive.

Three makes a trend: electronic trio Above & Beyond are releasing their new album ‘Flow State’ through Calm, although it’s part of a wider release strategy via label Anjunabeats, rather than being exclusive to the meditation app. Still, it’s a good fit: the album was inspired by yoga and mindfulness, so will fit right in with Calm’s other content, from guided meditation to sleep stories.

Calm’s app has been downloaded more than 54m times so far, and is signing up 75,000 new people every day.

Meanwhile, Above & Beyond are riding the mindfulness wave in other ways: they’ve teamed up with dance community Daybreaker to run a series of listening parties and festival sessions where ‘Flow State’ will be the soundtrack to a proper yoga session hosted by local yogis. Paris, Miami, London, Mexico City, Sydney and Amsterdam are on the agenda next for the events.
