Spotify has launched the fifth season of its music-focused podcast ‘Dissect’, which focuses on a single album every series. It has previously covered albums by Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West, Frank Ocean, Lauryn Hill and Tyler, the Creator (Lauryn Hill’s was a ‘special mini-series’, by the way, which is why the new season is the fifth officially, not the sixth). Now ‘Dissect’ is returning to where it started: Kendrick Lamar.

This time round, its focus will be on his ‘DAMN.’ album, over 20 episodes, with the first going live yesterday (1 October). There’s also some interesting news on how the podcast is being distributed: “Listen free on @Spotify and get episodes a week before all platforms,” explained a tweet from the official account. So: it may be a flagship music-podcast produced by Spotify Studios, but ‘Dissect’ WILL be available on other platforms – just with that week’s exclusivity to its own.
