What were you doing last night? Music Ally was listening to the premiere of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds’ new album ‘Ghosteen’ with more than 19,300 other people… on YouTube. The band made use of YouTube’s ‘Premieres’ feature, but instead of using it to debut a single track/video, they premiered their entire album – using lyric videos at the time Music Ally tuned in.

‘Ghosteen’ itself is released today, and the YouTube premiere was accompanied by real-world listening events in record stores and venues across the world. Anyway, it was an inventive spin on a YouTube Premiere, with Cave’s YouTube channel currently having more than 134,000 subscribers. At the time of writing, the livestream has notched up more than 95k views.

Music Ally’s next Learn Live webinar will help you understand what’s required for artists to thrive in new international markets!
