Coldplay

Having used postcards and newspaper ads to announce their new double-album, Coldplay are returning to digital waters as the campaign gets up and rolling.

The band have teamed up with YouTube for not one but two livestreamed performances on 22 November, the day the ‘Everyday Life’ album is released. The concerts, which are happening in Jordan, will mirror the structure of the album: one ‘Sunrise’ performance and one ‘Sunset’ performance – and yes, that does correspond to the times of day that each set will begin.

Fans are also being asked to submit their own videos that will be used during the broadcast on 22 November, while the whole shebang was announced with a fake press conference starring actors Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein (from the TV show ‘Portlandia’) as journalists asking some unexpected questions.
