Music Ally spotted French startup Reprtoir back in September 2017, with its plans to launch “a breakthrough online music industry platform that lets artists, producers, labels and publishers administer, license, pitch, publish, produce, distribute and manage master recordings, releases, musical works, videos and playlists”. Since then, it’s been working hard on the various parts of that ‘software-as-a-service’ product.
Today, it’s announcing the latest element, aimed at publishers. It’s called ‘Works Manager’, a works-management software designed to be used by music publishers to manage their metadata, catalogues and rights. “Works Manager allows the identification and mass assignment of rights holders, royalty splits and territorial restrictions on hundreds of music works in a matter of seconds,” promises the company.
