Mince pies are in the shops, Mariah Carey is lurking in the lower reaches of the charts, and Amazon is joining the early-Christmas fun with its latest crop of brand-new festive tracks. The first crop includes tracks by Ellie Goulding, Sebastian Yatra and a duet between Ingrid Michaelson and Jason Mraz, with further Yuletide recordings to come from the likes of Nina Nesbitt and The Band Perry. They join what’s become a bulging stocking-full of exclusives on Amazon’s streaming and download services: Katy Perry, Smokey Robinson, Lucinda Williams and Brandi Carlile are among the artists who’ve taken part in previous years.
