Independent music company Marathon Music Group is launching a third cohort of its Marathon Artists Labs startup accelerator.

Due to kick off in the first quarter of 2020, its theme will be ‘music discovery’, following previous programs focused on ‘tools for artist managers’ and ‘music-related content monetisation’. Marathon says that it’s looking for six startups for the six-month program. Among the kinds of companies that Marathon is looking for: AI-powered music-scouting / A&R startups; platforms that can help artists get exposed to ‘industry professionals and influential audiences’; B2B and B2C applications including metadata and recommendation engines; and tools to team artists up with micro-influencers.

“Music discovery is a critical industry topic and we’re incredibly excited to tackle that vertical. We are currently finalising the details of the six new participants and will be revealing them soon,” said Tanguy Giraud, COO and program director at Marathon Artists Labs. Disclosure: Music Ally has been a partner in previous programs of the Labs.
