It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single label in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of an official rideshare partner. As Jane Austen didn’t quite put it. Capitol Music Group is the label in this instance, and Lyft is the partner.
“Together, the two companies will offer music fans, Lyft riders and drivers exclusive experiences with top artists,” announced Capitol overnight about a partnership forged by its in-house brand-partnerships and sync-licensing team 1750 Agency. One of the first artists to benefit was Beck, last night, with Lyft offering some of its customers ‘exclusive access’ to the artist’s performance at Capitol Studios.
However, Lyft and Capitol have been working together for some time before, too, around events and artist partnerships: so this deal formalises that. Lyft has also worked with artists like Chance the Rapper, who gave away download copies of his last album in July to the company’s riders.
