Gismart is the company behind music creation apps such as Beat Maker Go, Piano Crush and DJ It. Those apps have, as of December, been downloaded over 500m times. Now American band Judah & The Lion are using the Beat Maker Go app as part of the promotion for their new album. This is all part of a wider push by Gismart to offer partner artists a platform to put out content and connect with new audiences.
The core of the promotion is a beat-making competition for users who can draw on the sounds Judah & The Lion have made available within the app. The band members will be among the judges and the competition opens today (29th January).
It’s not Gismart’s first partnership with an artist though: back in November 2018, the company worked with The Chainsmokers. The EDM act released a ‘sound pack’ of a number of their hits within the Beat Maker Go app. As part of that promotion, Beat Maker Go held a series of in-app events where prizes included Chainsmokers concert tickets and exclusive merchandise. The app has been installed more than 20m times so far.
The news comes shortly after Gismart announced its first external investment, as it put $500k into German music-making app startup Jambl.
