Who said Spotify’s premium tier is advertising-free? KFC Arabia has found a way around that, taking over the profiles of three artists in a campaign run by advertising agency Memac Ogilvy.

“KFC teamed up with three major artists from the region—Flipperachi, Moh Flow, and Shébani—to place imagery of Kentucky Burgers in their cover photos, bios, profile pictures and events,” explained industry website Design Taxi. “The artists’ playlists also sneakily nudged customers into enjoying the new menu item with song titles spelling out, ‘Discover, New, Kentucky, Burger, Come & Visit, KFC. Get It, Before It’s Too Late.’” Classy, eh? Although still classier than a Colonel Sanders festival DJ set

We suspect Spotify won’t be impressed, especially with the boast that “by hacking a platform where ads are not allowed, we gave the Kentucky burger the campaign that it truly deserved”. We can’t help wondering what fans of the three artists – Flipperachi, Moh Flow, and Shébani – will make of the stunt.
