Music company Sound Diplomacy has been researching and promoting the concept of ‘music cities’ for years now, making its impact felt in various parts of the world. Now it’s launching something new, and related: the Music Cities Awards. They’ll take place in Denver this September, alongside the Music Cities Convention, and promise to reward “the most outstanding applications of music for economic, social and cultural development in cities and places all around the world”.

There will be nine awards covering uses of music around tourism, sustainability, night-time economies and property development, as well as cities directly supporting musicians. You can find more details at the official website.
