Music-games publisher Harmonix has taken the wrappers off its next title. Fuser will be a console and PC game focused on DJing, due for release later in the year. According to the announcement, Fuser “will allow players to seamlessly blend vocals, bass lines, and other instrumentation from a multitude of different music genres and artists to define their own unique sound” – and they’ll also “be able to share their creations socially, making their game performances available for watching online”.
We can already imagine this being a hit on Twitch, although quite how the licensing will work for those performances – if they’re distributed on external platforms – remains to be seen.
Harmonix says that more than 100 tracks will be included in Fuser, and has already confirmed tracks from Billie Eilish, The Chainsmokers, Imagine Dragons, J Balvin and Willy William, Lil Nas X, Lizzo, Migos and Post Malone among others.
