The US National Music Publishers Association has settled the copyright infringement lawsuit with fitness firm Peloton, which was brought last year by 14 of its publisher members.
The terms have not been announced, but the NMPA said that alongside the settlement “Peloton and the trade association have entered into a joint collaboration agreement and will work together to further optimise Peloton’s music licensing systems and processes”.
President David Israelite, meanwhile, said that the settlement “compensates creators properly and sets forth the environment for a positive relationship going forward”. From now on, it appears to be all sweetness and light. “Peloton is an innovative company, and we are impressed with the company’s investment in technology and commitment to delivering a powerful, authentic music experience,” added Israelite.
