Plenty of artists have launched their own beers and lagers: Iron Maiden, Queen, Elbow, Motörhead and so on. It’s good to see someone sticking up for the more apple-y end of things in 2020 though: British band Circa Waves are launching their own cider called ‘Cider Waves’. There’s also an interesting story behind it: alongside launching the cider, the band are planting an orchard to offset the carbon footprint of their upcoming UK tour. It’s a partnership with a company called Fowey Valley Cider.
“We’re very excited to announce we offsetting our carbon footprint for touring. It’s something we feel is so important for artists to get involved in and the added bonus is that we are planting apple trees to make our very own Circa Cider,” said frontman Kieran Shudall. Fowey Valley says it’s the first time a music artist has approached it about this kind of idea.
