You like the app – now try the festival. The storied London Palladium theatre will be hosting ‘For You Stage, a Live Show Feat TikTok Superstars’ on 24 and 25 May this year. Named after the ‘For You’ discovery tab in TikTok, the show “will incorporate some of the biggest content creators on the TikTok app, as well as a live band, games and challenges, viral dances, comedy sketches and more”. The blurb adds: “For You Stage pulls together variety, game show, and Saturday Night Live-esque sketch, whilst incorporating the most modern media platforms of our time, making it a true one off and the first of its kind.”
This isn’t an official TikTok show as far as we can tell: it’s the work of production company Billion View Club, which has rounded up a group of popular British TikTokers to take part. Its press release promised that the show is “made for Generation-Z and ‘boomers’ alike” – good news for the parents who’ll be browsing the £29-£35 ticket prices and wondering whether they’re in for a night (or matinee – there are four performances over the two-day run) of bafflement.
