Streaming service Deezer has announced its latest group of emerging artists to be promoted under its ‘Deezer Next’ initiative.

Iraqi-Canadian artist Ali Gatie is going to be a global priority artist for Deezer in the coming months, having already seen his streams jump by 7,000% on the service in the last year.

Deezer has also announced a swathe of new regional ‘Next’ artists including: Joesef (UK); Wilhelmine (Germany); Yseult, Lous and the Yakuza, Pomme and Captaine Roshi (France); Tiee and Luan Estilzado (Brazil); Rod Wave (LatAm / US); Langa Mavuso (South Africa); and Áslaug (Netherlands). If one of those names is recently familiar, that’s because Lous and the Yakuza was also named as one of the artists in Spotify’s new ‘Radar’ emerging-artists initiative earlier this week. What with Deezer Next, Spotify Radar and Apple Up Next, there’s no shortage of DSP-driven programs to spotlight emerging artists in 2020.
