News that Justin Bieber is going to be releasing a couple of albums a week during the coronavirus pandemic may raise your eyebrows, but there’s a caveat: these are compilations rather than all brand new material.

“Gonna be putting up some compilations for you guys. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Here is the first one,” tweeted Bieber yesterday, with a smart-link taking fans to ‘R&Bieber’ on Apple Music, Spotify and Amazon Music. It’s a five-track compilation – and it is an actual release, not a playlist – of songs from his latest album ‘Changes’.

He should be able to get two more out of the 17-track album, then: but what would be interesting would be if Bieber (and his label, obviously) start adding new and rare/unreleased tracks to these compilations as time goes on, to make them more than just a repackaging move.
