Bytedance’s new music streaming service Resso is live in India and Indonesia, and it launched with a decent catalogue of local content. Now that’s growing, courtesy of a licensing deal with Indian music company Shemaroo Entertainment.

The deal adds the latter company’s library of film and non-film music: “Multiple genres like Bollywood, Devotional, Regional, Kids, Pop and Sufi in more than 22 languages including Hindi, Punjabi, Marathi, Bhojpuri, Gujarati and Bengali,” as RadioAndMusic put it. It’s part of Shemaroo’s ongoing digital growth, with the company announcing that its flagship YouTube channel FilmiGaane recently reached the milestone of 30 million subscribers. It’s actually up to 33.8 million now.
