After past acquisitions of music analytics startups Next Big Sound (by Pandora), Semetric and Asaii (both by Apple) the industry once again has a clutch of independent dashboards competing to help artists, managers and labels make sense of their streaming and social stats.

We’ve written regularly about the likes of Soundcharts and Chartmetric, but the latest newcomer is Songstats. It’s the work of the team behind 1001Tracklists, which pitches itself as ‘the world’s leading DJ tracklist database’.

Songstats is a spin-off analytics platform, offered as a website and as mobile apps, which is currently tracking data from Spotify, Apple Music, Shazam, iTunes and SoundCloud – but also (this may be the appeal for the dance music world) Beatport, Traxsource and 1001Tracklists itself.

“Songstats was born out of a desire to aggregate everything into a single app, notify you straight away on what’s most significant, and make it easy to understand the many ways in which you can take advantage of data-driven growth opportunities,” says CEO Oskar Eichler. A free trial is being offered to help people test it out.
