Startups and services based on live music are having to pivot quickly (if, hopefully, temporarily) amid the Covid-19 pandemic. We wrote about ticketing app Dice’s launch of a livestreaming-focused Dice TV feature last week, and now fellow British startup Beatstream Box Office is making its own changes.

The company’s main business is giving fans paid access to live audio streams of concerts, with a feed taken directly from the venue’s mixing desk. With no concerts currently happening physically, the company is adapting its technology to support the burgeoning number of livestream performances. Artists and DJs can now hook their streams up to its platform remotely (so they don’t need an on-side engineer) and sell tickets for live audio streams. Performances and DJ sets featuring the likes of Graeme Park, Clint Boon and The Sherlocks are among the events using the platform this week.
