This weekend, a parade of stars teamed up for the One World: Together At Home livestream, organised and curated by Global Citizen and Lady Gaga to benefit the World Health Organization’s Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund. How did the event do? By yesterday it had already raised a total of $127.9m, of which $55.1m will go to the global fund, and $72.8m to local and regional responders to the pandemic.

The event wasn’t so much about getting viewers to donate as it was to drum up support from “world leaders, corporate partners and philanthropists” noted Global Citizen, which has named some of the charities that will benefit. “Changemakers, investors, and foundation leaders came together to contribute quickly to related efforts, like strengthening health care systems and investing in vaccine development.”

There are more details in the official announcement of the funding total.
