The UK’s Music Venue Trust (MVT) is launching a campaign called #saveourvenues, which aims to drum up support for 556 ‘grassroots music venues’ that it says are in danger of permanent closure in the UK. “The situation is dire, government support has been exhausted, and it now falls to artists, music fans, local communities and the wider industry to take action,” suggested the campaign’s website, which is aiming to get artists raising money for individual venues that they have a connection with.

In other news, Universal Music’s Bravado merch division has launched a We’ve Got You Covered online store, selling resuable cloth face masks emblazoned with the logos of artists including Billie Eilish, the Rolling Stones, The Weeknd, Blackpink and Ariana Grande. Proceeds from the $15 masks will go to various music community charities, including MusiCares and Help Musicians.

Meanwhile, Post Malone’s livestreamed concert of Nirvana covers raised nearly $3m for Covid-19 relief, while Offset and friends are planning a virtual gig this Wednesday (29 April) to raise money for the Atlanta Community Food Bank – Offset has also personally donated 200k meals to it already.
