We reported on the #NextStageChallenge last month: it’s an initiative that’s trying to round up developers for a hackathon and accelerator to tackle some of the challenges that the Covid-19 pandemic has created for musicians. Music Ally is one of the companies collaborating on the challenge. We’ve now got an update on participation: 425 applicants from 39 countries will be taking part in the challenge, which kicked off its two-week hackathon yesterday.

After it ends on 15 May, there’ll be an evaluation and selection process, followed by the announcement of winners on 20 May and the start of the accelerator phase of the initiative. Mentors signed up for the latter stage include Cliff Fluet, Cherie Hu, Ted Cohen, Stephen O’Reilly, Antònia Folguera and Jake Beaumont-Nesbitt.

Music Ally’s next Learn Live webinar will help you understand what’s required for artists to thrive in new international markets!
