There will be no physical Midem conference this year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but the event will live on digitally – including its annual Midemlab startups contest.
Yesterday, the 20 finalists for this year’s competition (disclosure: Music Ally is one of the selecting partners) were announced, narrowed down from 226 entrants this year. The Music Creation & Education category will see Boomy, MuseMind, Paradiddle, Riyaz and Solfeg·io competing, while the Music Distribution & Discovery category will feature Fantasy Music Manager, Sua Música, Super Hi-Fi, Weav Run and Yneuro.
The five startups duking it out in the Music Marketing & Data/Analytics category are Audoo, BuzzMyMedia, Fanear Labs, Soundeon and Trash, while the Live Music Experiences category will be contested by Eyellusion, Jamset, Rost, Snaptivity and Uptune.
You can find links to each finalist on the Midemlab website, while we’ve profiled or covered pitches by Boomy, Super Hi-Fi, Weav, Audoo and Trash in the past. With past winners including SoundCloud, Kickstarter, The Echo Nest and Next Big Sound, we’ll be looking forward to the pitches from this year’s crop of finalists.
