Tuned Global ramps up B2B competition with 7digital in Europe

Tuned Global is one of the companies focusing on business-to-business (B2B) digital music: helping brands and other companies launch music services without having to build them and license them from scratch.

Headquartered in Australia, it’s now making a push in Europe by poaching from one of its main rivals, British firm 7digital. Tuned Global has appointed that company’s business development manager Mario Forsyth as its new head of business development – Europe.

“Enquiries from the European market have been significant and continue to grow. The current pandemic has greatly impacted enquiries as people’s behaviours have changed and brought digital services into a sharp focus,” said MD Con Raso. “It was a natural next step to have someone on the ground to be able to meet our clients in person, in their timezone.”

B2B digital music can be a tough business: one of the past leaders, Omnifone, went out of business in 2016, while 7digital battled financial difficulties of its own last year. However, there are still plenty of customers out there, so it’s no surprise to see the B2B players that are still standing continuing to compete.
