Charity The Circle, which was founded by artist and activist Annie Lennox, has launched a global music auction to raise money for its Covid-19 Emergency Appeal. The charity is raising funds for women and girls who’ve been disproportionately impacted by the coronavirus crisis this year.
The auction is taking place on the Charity Stars platform, and will combine traditional bidding with a sweepstakes competition running alongside it.
Among the items: a signed guitar from Taylor Swift and outfits worn for performances by Lennox and Madison Beer. There’s also an experience element: Lennox, Sting, Emeli Sandé, Jessie J, Yola, Paloma Faith, Jesie Ware, Hozier, Celeste, Anoushka Shankar, Frank Turner and other artists will be recording ‘personalised performances’ for winning bidders and sweepstakes winners – pre-recorded performances with messages for the fan included. You can see the auction here.
