Spotify has launched its first Spotify Singles x Pride campaign, and it sees three LGBTQ+ artists perform apposite covers. Orville Peck has picked ‘Smalltown Boy’ by Bronskski Beat, Rina Sawayama covers ‘Dance In The Dark’ by Lady Gaga and Joesef turns in a version of ‘Thinking Of You’ by Sister Sledge.

The songs for Spotify Singles are generally recorded at Electric Lady Studios in New York, but these three were all recorded by their acts at their respective homes. They also took their own photos for the sleeve of each release. They’re at the top of the company’s Spotify Singles playlist.

This is all part of Spotify’s broader ‘Pride 2020: Unlike Any Other’ campaign, which includes the Amplify: Pride music and podcast hub; an official ‘Out Now: Unlike Any Other’ official Pride playlist; more playlists from key ballroom culture figures; and a ‘My LGBTQ+ Soundtrack’ feature where people can share the songs that have most personal resonance for them with Pride, and queer culture more generally.
