Warner Music Group’s latest partnership is with production company Imagine Entertainment, the firm behind films including A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13 and Frost/Nixon.
Although its most relevant projects in this case might be The Beatles: Eight Days A Week – The Touring Years; 8 Mile; Robbie Robertson and The Band, as well as TV shows Genius: Aretha and Wu-Tang: An American Saga.
That’s because Imagine and WMG will be co-producing and co-financing music-focused films, TV shows, documentaries and “other short-form content” – all based on WMG’s artists, songwriters and catalogue.
Genius: Aretha was the first collaboration between the two companies, but now Imagine – founded by Hollywood veterans Brian Grazer and Ron Howard – will be rifling through WMG’s archives and rosters to come up with more projects in the years ahead.
