Is everyone an influencer in 2020? Well, not everyone, but according to investment firm SignalFire “more than 50 million people around the world consider themselves creators, despite the creator economy only being born a decade ago”.
That’s the introduction for its new report, ‘Creator Economy Market Map‘, which catalogues more than 100 of the startups and tools built to help influencers go about their businesses, as well as sizing the market. For example, SignalFire estimates that of those 50 million creators, only around two million are “professionals” making a living on platforms like YouTube, Instagram and Twitch.
The report is a good grounding in the influencers world, but it could also be very useful for artist managers and label marketing teams thinking about how some of the tools for influencers might also be deployed for musicians.
