Channels like ChilledCow and Chillhop Music can do it. Hollywood star Will Smith can do it. Even Pepsi can do it. So why can’t Four Tet? He can!

The ‘it’ in question being ‘looping lo-fi chillout music streams on YouTube’ of course.

Electronic artist Four Tet has what appears to be a 12-hour loop that began streaming on his YouTube channel on 23 September.

It’s titled ‘⣎⡇ꉺლ༽இ•̛)ྀ◞ ༎ຶ ༽ৣৢ؞ৢ؞ؖ ꉺლ‘ (thank goodness this is video rather than audio that you might want to request via a smart speaker, although Four Tet has history on that front too).

There’s no obvious commercial aim in mind, although we’d be interested in the economics of a constantly-looping artist stream on YouTube. Our favourite comment so far in the stream’s chat section: “Yo are Four Tet okay this has been going on for days”.

Update: at the time of writing, the stream is no longer available.
