Live concerts are still impossible in many parts of the world, and travel to hotels has been curtailed by the Covid-19 pandemic too. What better time to be planning a range of music-themed hotels, then?

But clearly, Universal Music Group has its eye on the longer (hopefully Covid-free) term with its plans for ‘Umusic Hotels’ in Atlanta, Orlando and Biloxi, Mississippi.

It’s part of a partnership with Dakia U-Ventures, with plans for the hotels to “draw inspiration from their respective local culture and serve as creative hubs in communities around the world – promoting positive social change, education and innovation through the power of music”.

Performance venues will be included, Las Vegas style, although details of budgets and timescales are being kept under wraps for the time being.
