Streaming service Audiomack has a new deal with Warner Music Group, which for the first time includes Africa, Canada and Jamaica.
It’s the first of those that’s most interesting, coming just a week after Audiomack announced a partnership with smartphone maker Transsion Holdings in that region.
“Under the new deal, not only will our teams benefit from a range of key A&R, marketing, and data commitments in Africa, but Audiomack will also help support our African artists’ international expansion into the US and western markets,” said WMG’s Alfonso Perez Soto in a statement.
Audiomack currently has more than 16 million monthly active users, double the eight million it had in August 2019, when WMG became the first major label to license the service.
