It’s no surprise to see Mariah Carey’s annual climb up various charts starting early: ‘All I Want For Christmas is You’ is currently 73rd in YouTube’s global chart.
Pandora has kicked off its Christmas 2020 ‘digital celebration’ and Amazon Music already launched its slate of festive originals.
Now Spotify is joining the party with its own annual collection of exclusive tracks and covers. This year, artists taking part include the Black Pumas, Camilo, Julien Baker, Jazmine Sullivan, Sasha Sloan, Ruston Kelly, Vérité, Dashboard Confessional, Ryan Hurd, Patrick Droney, Betty Who and Vistas.
There’s also a Christmas-themed ‘For The Record’ podcast including an interview with Dolly Parton, fresh from doing a seasonal livestream with Amazon Music (oh, and funding a Covid-19 vaccine, which genuinely is the good-news twist we need to get the celebratory season underway…)
