Tribe XR is an interesting music/tech startup: we wrote about it when it pitched as part of the Techstars Music demo day in May. It’s a virtual reality DJ training app: people put on their VR headset and learn to DJ with a set of virtual decks, but it can also be used to broadcast directly to platforms like Twitch (er, although since the demo day a few copyright-related headaches have emerged around those kinds of streams on that platform…)

However, Tribe XR has announced a new partnership this week with Beatport, to integrate the latter’s ‘Link’ streaming service into its app. That means Tribe XR’s users can now DJ with the Beatport Link catalogue, although they’ll need a subscription – its tiers range from $14.99 a month to $44.99 a month. “Both companies plan to collaborate on unique and first-time live virtual experiences in the months to come,” added their announcement.
