Despite two recent press events, Apple wasn’t quite done with product launches for 2020. Yesterday it unwrapped its latest audio product: a pair of wireless over-the-ear headphones called AirPods Max, for people with too-sensitive-for-earbuds earholes (and well-stuffed wallets: they cost $549).

The headphones will go on sale on 15 December in five colours, with noise cancellation and lots of other innards focused on maximum audio quality. They’ll also go for 20 hours on a single charge, and easily switch pairing between different Apple devices.

Meanwhile, Apple has also confirmed the launch date for its Peloton-ish Fitness+ service, which will offer music-driven video workouts. It goes live on 14 December with 10 workout types, from high-intensity interval training, cycling and treadmill classes to yoga, dance and ‘mindful cooldown’. As previously announced, there will be playlist integrations with Apple Music, and it costs $9.99 a month (or is part of the highest tier Apple One bundle of services).
