We’ve been writing about startup Sensorium Corporation, which has amassed more than $100m of funding to build a virtual reality platform next year – including a world called ‘Prism’ devoted to music. It’s been signing up big-name DJs like David Guetta and Carl Cox to perform there, but now the company has revealed that they will be joined by artificial intelligence DJs too.

This is via a deal with AI music startup Mubert to create “the world’s first AI-driven DJs that will autonomously create a constant flow of ever-changing music that adapts to all kinds of moods and environments”. So, Mubert is bringing the music generation, while Sensorium will be creating a group of “photorealistic virtual artists” to front it as DJs. K-Pop, hip-hop, EDM and indie rock are among the genres promised.
