We’ve been thinking a lot about synthetic reality – virtual artists for example – and the crossover between gaming and music this year. Last night brought news of the latest experiment around all this: a TV show called ‘We Are OFK’ based on a virtual pop group called OFK.

“We Are OFK’s visuals, interactivity, and music tell a story of the creative process of music-making, and all the shit that gets in the way.

The virtual band will debut a new single in each episode, with an accompanying interactive music video,” explained the blurb. “Find yourself immersed into the lives of four twenty-somethings: what it’s like to make art with your friends, the joys of creating, the frustrations of collaboration, and all the ways that trying to just live your life clashes with trying to do the work.” An interactive Gorillaz-meets-K/DA in the making? We’ll be keen to see how it evolves.
