It’s a day off for announcements of new Hipgnosis catalogue acquisitions, but there is still news about the company to report. It has increased its debt facility by £200m to £600m (around $814.4m) as it prepares to snap up more songs in the coming weeks and months.

There will continue to be plenty of other snappers in this feeding frenzy however. Yesterday, Primary Wave Music Publishing announced its latest acquisition: the publishing catalogue of songwriter Dan Wilson, whose clients include Adele (‘Someone Like You’ included) and The Chicks. Terms of the deal were undisclosed.

With Hipgnosis, Primary Wave and Round Hill Music all eyeing catalogues to swoop for – not to mention the major publishers – 2021 looks set to see a continued string of such announcements.
