The latest artist to turn their artwork into a whizzy Instagram filter is Bicep.
Signed to Ninja Tune, their new album ‘Isles’ comes out on 22 January, with the filter launching ahead of it – tap on this link from your phone to try it.
It’s not just a fun effect though: fans creating videos with it can tag Bicep in when they upload them.
The best examples will be used for a video projection on buildings in Belfast and London on the album’s launch day, as part of a partnership with Amazon Music. That’s a good idea: it’s increasingly easy to create AR filters or lenses for social apps, but working them into something bigger with fans’ creative input is a neat step on from that.
