Downtown Music Holdings logo - USE THIS ONE

Downtown Music Holdings likes buying interesting music/tech firms like Hipgnosis Songs Fund likes buying catalogues. The latest to join Downtown’s family is marketing platform Found·ee.

The deal, for an undisclosed amount, will see Downtown acquiring the startup’s IP and technology for building digital advertising and marketing campaigns.

The companies already had links: fellow Downtown subsidiary CD Baby is a minority investor in Found·ee, as well as being one of the 25,000-plus artists and labels using the platform.

The startup’s CEO Jason Hobbs will be joining Downtown as part of the deal, which is expected to close by the end of March.

Downtown’s expansion continues to be the bigger picture here: it bought Fuga and CD Baby last year, as well as audio fingerprinting tech company Simbals.
