Streaming service Audiomack finally has a full set of major label licensing deals, having concluded agreements with Universal Music and Sony Music.
The deals follow its agreement with Warner Music: originally signed in August 2019, then expanded in November 2020.
The announcement of the UMG and Sony deals came with a new figure attached: Audiomack now has 17 million monthly active users, up from 16 million last November.
The company is also highlighting its expansion in Africa, where it claims to be the top music app for iOS in Nigeria, Ghana, Tanzania, Senegal and Kenya – although bear in mind iOS’s device footprint is considerably smaller than Android’s in Africa, so App Store rankings aren’t the best metric for judging popularity there.
