It wasn’t such a surprise that Post Malone is a big fan of Nirvana, as showcased in his livestream covers concert last year. It’s perhaps more unexpected that he’s also a fan of Pikachu, Bellsprout, Lickitung and their friends in the Pokémon universe. But yes, apparently Post Malone is into Pokémon, and that’s one of the reasons why he’s been signed up to perform another virtual music concert – this one to celebrate the gaming brand’s 25th anniversary.

The concert is happening on 27 February, which is Pokémon Day, and is a partnership between the brand’s owner The Pokémon Company and Universal Music Group – part of a wider ‘P25 Music’ series that has also enlisted Katy Perry.

Post Malone’s concert will be free to watch on the official Pokémon YouTube and Twitch channels, as well as on its 25th anniversary website. He probably won’t play ‘Territorial Pissings’.
