That new Ariana Grande remix put us to sleep! Not an insult… We’ve written about some of mindfulness startup Calm’s partnerships with individual artists to create bespoke music for its service. Now it’s working with a label too: Universal Music Group.

The two companies have teamed up to produce a ‘Sleep Remix Series’. That means remixes of tracks by the likes of Grande, Kacey Musgraves, Katy Perry, Jhene Aiko, Post Malone, Shawn Mendes and Luis Fonsi which extend to 60 minutes (!) with an emphasis on helping listeners get off to sleep. The tracks are launching for Calm’s subscribers today as part of what’s apparently ‘World Sleep Day’.

Calm’s head of music Courtney Phillips described the series as something that “pushes mainstream music boundaries beyond the traditional radio edit” and promised more to come, as the company continues to strike music industry partnerships.
