YouTube has been the key platform for K-Pop’s global explosion in recent years, and now it’s doubling down on that position with a new seven-part documentary series: K-Pop Evolution.

Produced by Banger Films, it promises an examination of “the past, present and future of the global music phenomenon and $10 billion industry known as K-Pop”.

The first episode has been released, although paying subscribers can binge the whole lot immediately.

There’s a who’s who of K-Pop personalities interviewed for the series: Amber Liu, Baekhyun, BoA, Danny Im, Doyoung, Han Seung Yeon, Ha:tfelt (Yeeun), Joon Park, Kang Daniel, Kangta, Leeteuk, Sandara Park, Seulgi, Taemin, Taeyong, Tony An, Pentagon, (G)I-DLE and Everglow. What, no BTS or Blackpink? But even so, given YouTube’s history with K-Pop, the documentary should make for interesting viewing.
