The Pew Research Center has been surveying Americans on their social media usage, and found that… not much has changed.

“YouTube and Facebook continue to dominate the online landscape, with 81% and 69%, respectively, reporting ever using these sites,” it reported. “And YouTube and Reddit were the only two platforms measured that saw statistically significant growth since 2019, when the Center last polled on this topic.” Indeed, YouTube’s reach has grown from 73% of American adults in 2019 to 81% now, while Reddit’s has growb from 11% to 18% in that period.

As for the other platforms, Facebook is used by 69% of Americans according to the survey, followed by Instagram (40%), Pinterest (31%), LinkedIn (28%), Snapchat (25%), Twitter and WhatsApp (both 23%) and TikTok (21%).

Note, though, that among 18-29 year olds some of these platforms are much more popular: a reach of 71% for Instagram, 65% for Snapchat and 48% for TikTok.
